Spring Photo Locations Around Princeton & Mercer County, NJ
With the warmer weather arriving and the first signs of spring starting to appear, it’s the perfect time to begin thinking about your spring photo session. Spring is one of my favorite seasons to photograph because so many beautiful locations around the Princeton and Mercer County area begin to come to life with blooming flowers, soft greenery, and golden evening light.
Over the years, I’ve discovered several spots that photograph beautifully each spring. Whether you’re planning updated family photos, graduation portraits, maternity photos, or another special milestone, these locations offer the perfect seasonal backdrop.
Let’s take a look at some of my favorite spring photo locations!
Cherry Blossom Backdrops
Cherry blossoms are one of the most magical signs that spring has officially arrived. Their soft pink blooms create such a dreamy backdrop for photos and only last for a short window each year, which makes sessions during this time feel extra special.
There are several beautiful cherry blossom locations throughout Mercer County that photograph wonderfully during peak bloom. These sessions are perfect for families, graduation photos, mommy and me sessions, or even couples looking for a soft spring aesthetic.
Greenhouse in Ewing, NJ
Bountiful Gardens offers a beautiful hidden escape with both indoor and outdoor greenhouse spaces. The lush greenery, natural light, and garden setting create such a unique atmosphere for photos.
This location is especially great if you're looking for something a little different from a traditional outdoor location. The greenery and glass greenhouse structure create beautiful light and texture that photograph beautifully for family sessions, maternity portraits, or milestone sessions.
Magnolia Trees at Princeton University
Magnolia trees are another beautiful sign of spring, and Princeton University’s campus has several gorgeous spots where these trees bloom each year.
The large white and pink magnolia blossoms create a soft, elegant backdrop that pairs beautifully with the classic architecture around campus. This location is especially popular for graduation photos, but it also works beautifully for family sessions and couples.
Washington Crossing Park
Washington Crossing Historic Park is another incredible location that offers a variety of natural backdrops all in one place. In the spring, you can find cherry blossoms, greenery, open fields, and beautiful historic scenery throughout the park.
Because the park has so many different areas to explore, it allows us to capture a wide variety of photos during your session. It’s a wonderful location for family sessions, graduation photos, and portraits.
Sayen Gardens in Hamilton, NJ
Sayen Gardens is one of the most loved photo locations in Mercer County, and for good reason. This beautiful botanical garden is filled with winding paths, blooming florals, and lush greenery that create a stunning backdrop throughout the spring season.
Every corner of Sayen Gardens offers something new to photograph, from colorful flowers to charming bridges and garden pathways. It’s a favorite location for family sessions, mommy and me sessions, maternity photos, and spring portraits.
