Frequently Asked Questions

How would you describe your photography style?

I capture traditional posed portraits as well as very natural candids. I feel this mix brings out the best in everyone and makes for a truly enjoyable experience. I try and keep my photography very natural, capturing the action as it happens, so it's lots of fun with posing as well!

Where does the photo session take place?

For all of my sessions, I have a recommendation list of places I frequent within the Mercer County area and beyond. When booking your session, we will talk and figure out which location is ideal for YOUR session!

My packages included travel up to 10 miles from Lawrence, NJ. Additional travel is subject to a fee.

What happens if it rains for our scheduled time?

I track the weather closely before outdoor sessions and will touch base the day before our shoot (when the forecast is more reliable). If it does not look promising, we’ll discuss options for rescheduling for a future date.

How do I view the photos after the session?

Within 5-14 days after our shoot, your edited images will be available for viewing in a private online gallery and will be sent to you in a detailed email!

How are the photos narrowed down?

After our session, I upload all of the images from our session into my editing software. I look at the photos and narrow down the photos and share only the best of the best. The photos that don't get selected are either because of blinking, harsh sunlight, blurry, or any other imperfections that don't fit the quality I deliver.

What happens if my child is ill?

I am happy to reschedule if this happens, I just ask that you let me know as soon as possible.

What should we all wear?

Once you book, I’ll send over helpful session prep information with outfit guidance. I usually recommend coordinating colors instead of matching exactly, sticking with soft/neutral tones, and choosing outfits that feel comfortable and photograph well.Take a look at the blog to see more recommendations or tips on what to wear!

Should we bring anything to the session?

It's great if you can bring along some of your child's favorite toys, games, balls, kites, bubbles – anything that you enjoy doing together as a family. Snacks are also a good idea to boost your child's energy levels.

Can we bring pets to our session?

Absolutely! They are part of the fam, right? Friendly and leashed pets are welcome to be included in your session for most of the locations I frequent.

Do you offer mini sessions?

Yes! I offer mini sessions seasonally throughout the year, with most availability during the spring, summer, fall, and holiday seasons. Mini sessions are shorter sessions offered on select dates and at select locations. They are a great option for families looking for a few updated photos, but they do book quickly. You can view current mini session availability here: https://book.usesession.com/i/2BLPrE0Iq or through the 'mini session' tab on my website!

What is the difference between a mini session and an individual session?

Mini sessions are shorter, offered on specific dates/locations, and include fewer images. Individual sessions offer more time, flexibility, location options, and variety. They are best if you want a more relaxed experience, multiple groupings, young children who may need extra time, or a location/date that is not part of a mini session event.

Are mini sessions for immediate family only?

Yes, mini sessions are designed for immediate families only. If you would like to include grandparents, cousins, extended family members, or additional groupings, an individual session is the better fit so we have enough time to capture everyone without feeling rushed.

Can I purchase extra images?

Yes! Your package includes a set number of digital images, but you will have the option to purchase additional favorites after viewing your proofing gallery. Extra images are $20 each, 3 for $45, or you can upgrade to the full gallery for $120.

Do you help with posing?

Yes! I will guide you throughout the session with natural posing and prompts so you do not have to worry about knowing what to do. My goal is to capture a mix of gently posed and candid moments regardless of the session type you book.

How do I book a session?

You can book mini sessions directly through my mini session booking page. For individual sessions, you can inquire through my contact form, and I’ll help guide you toward the best package, location, and date.

Can you accommodate children with special needs?

Yes. I am happy to make accommodations to help your child feel comfortable during their session. This may include extra time to warm up, breaks, simple directions, movement-based prompts, sensory-friendly planning, or choosing a location that feels best for your child.

If your child may need more time or a slower-paced experience, I recommend booking a longer package rather than a mini session. This gives us more flexibility and allows your child time to adjust without feeling rushed. If there is anything specific that would help your child have a positive experience, please share that with me before the session so I can plan with care!
