I’ve had the joy of photographing Jocelyn and Thomas once again, and this time, it was during a dreamy winter snowstorm in Princeton, NJ. There is something so magical about fresh snowfall, especially on such a timeless campus. Despite the cold weather, this couple completely embraced the moment and braved the storm, and it truly made for the most beautiful photos.

Winter sessions may come with chilly temperatures, but they also bring soft light, quiet pathways, and snow-covered architecture that feel straight out of a storybook. Princeton in the snow is always breathtaking, and this session was no exception.

We visited some of my go-to spots on campus, including Nassau Hall and the Maclean House. Both locations offer that iconic Princeton charm with stunning architecture that photographs beautifully in every season, but especially in the winter! The snow gently resting on the historic buildings added so much texture and romance to the gallery.

We also took advantage of the evergreen trees scattered throughout campus. Covered in fresh snow, they created the perfect natural backdrop and added that cozy, winter feel to their maternity portraits.

Princeton University truly is one of my favorite places to photograph. Between the stone pathways, archways, greenery, and historic charm, there are endless photo opportunities year-round. If you’re considering a session here, be sure to explore my full Princeton location guide HERE.

During this session, we captured a variety of images of the soon-to-be mom and dad together, along with individual portraits of Jocelyn. I always love mixing posed portraits with natural, candid moments. From soft embraces to genuine laughter between takes, those in-between moments often become the favorites.

Maternity sessions are about slowing down and documenting this chapter before everything changes in the most beautiful way. Investing in a maternity session to document your journey to motherhood is such a special way to commemorate this season of life. These months can feel long, but they pass so quickly. Having photos to look back on, especially ones as magical as a winter snowfall — makes it all the more meaningful!
