Newborn sessions are truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. The early days go by in the blink of an eye - from remembering the tiny fingers, little stretches, and the way they fit in your arms. It's always so special photographing these moments for new and growing families, especially when it all feels brand new.
Today on the blog, I'm excited to talk about sweet Frankie's newborn session from almost a year ago.
Oh baby! Frankie was a gem to photograph during his newborn session. He was full of the cutest faces, sleepiest yawns, and surrounded by lots of love from mom and dad.
A while back, I photographed mom and dad’s maternity session at Princeton University. It was one of the chilliest and windiest days! Fast forward some time, mom reached out wanting to capture some newborn photos once baby made his arrival. We got to planning, and finally, I got to meet and photograph this sweet baby boy!
For Frankie’s session, we focused on a relaxed, in-home lifestyle approach. In-home newborn sessions are some of my favorites because they tell the most authentic story. Your home is where the late-night feedings happen, where you rock your baby to sleep, and where all those first memories are made. Christina and Dan’s living room had beautiful natural light, and Frankie’s nursery was thoughtfully decorated with personal details that made the space feel warm and meaningful.
From posed portraits to lifestyle moments that reflected the warmth and intimacy of those early newborn days, we captured a variety of must have photos. From shots of the three of them together, to mom and dad each snuggling him individually, this session had it all.

I love photographing baby's nursery during newborn sessions. There's something special about photographing their space. Frankie's nursery was decorated from perfection. You can tell there was so much detail put into making this space ready for his big arrival!
One of my goals during every newborn session is to create a calm, flexible environment. We move at baby’s pace. If we need to pause for feeding, diaper changes, or extra cuddles, we do. There is no rush. The beauty of newborn photography is in embracing the unpredictability and finding magic in the in-between moments.
Frankie was surrounded by so much love, and made the most adorable expressions! From tiny yawns to the sweetest little stretches, every detail was worth documenting. There were so many favorites from this session, I had the hardest time narrowing them down to share. It’s always a joy when clients invite me back to continue documenting their journey, and I’m so grateful Christina and Dan trusted me with these precious memories.
